Perspirex Antiperspirant Clinically Proven to Provide Protection for 3 to 5 days
Now available in pharmacies across Canada
(Richmond Hill, ON) – Twenty (20) per cent of people who sweat excessively have more than five corrective behaviours – like carry an antiperspirant or deodorant to reapply during the day, avoid raising their arms or avoid wearing certain fabrics to prevent and cover up for wet stains on the clothes. With its unique patented formulation, Perspirex is clinically proven to provide protection from such sweat and odour. In fact, one application works for three to five days.
Internationally recognized classification for antiperspirants (the American FDA) states that for a product to be categorized as an ‘antiperspirant’ it must achieve a 20% sweat reduction. If an antiperspirant demonstrates a 30% sweat reduction it may be classified as ‘Extra effective’. The patented formula of Perspirex demonstrates 65% sweat reduction for at least 72 hours after each application.1 (Tests performed by the Institute Dr. Schrader International GmbH, Germany.)
Perspirex does not contain any perfume or preservatives, which reduces the risk of any skin irritation and allergies, and is available as a roll-on for under the arms. Perspirex antiperspirant is available at select Shoppers Drug Mart, Rexall, PharmaPlus, London Drugs, Lawtons, PharmaChoice and independent drug stores across Canada for a suggested retail price of $19.99.
How Antiperspirants Work
The active ingredient in antiperspirants is usually aluminium salts. Aluminium chloride has been used to combat excessive perspiration since the beginning of the 1900s. For the first many years, aluminium salts in a water solution was used. Later, an alcohol solution, which has considerably more long term effect, was introduced.
1. The survey on the topic was sweating in Germany on behalf of the Danish company Riemann & Co. A/S from the Institute conducted MyResarch. This was the period of 20 April to 3 May 2009 a total of 2095 people aged between 15 and 60, surveyed online. 805 of the Respondents (37%) said this at least once a week to sweat in an extent at their own causes discomfort (excessive / heavy sweating). The results of the Survey were weighted on the basis of region of origin, age and gender and represent the German adults aged between 15 and 60. With the weighting the data and the response return of more than 2,000 people is the survey to be statistically to be considered representative.
We have approximately 1.6 – 4 million sweat glands dispersed all over the body. The density is higher under the arms, in the palms of the hands and soles of the feet than other places on the body. Perspiration is a watery solution, in itself completely odourless. Despite this we often experience that perspiration has an unpleasant smell. The odour is caused by bacteria on the surface of the skin when they break down (metabolising) the components of the perspiration. We have two types of sweat glands: the eccrine sweat glands which are particularly found on the palms of the hands and soles of the feet and the apocrine sweat glands, which are mostly present in the armpits.
