There are steps you can take to prevent flaking. If you use hair spray while applying Splat Hair Chalk ( as per the directions) it will help the color lock onto your hair.

Q. Do I have to wash it off to get to bed?
Splat Hair Chalk may rub off on your pillow and bedding if you leave it in overnight. It's best to wash it out before going to bed.

Directions:

  1. Apply Splat Hair Chalk to dry hair.
  2. Select a strip of hair and apply a very light mist of hair spray, let dry.
  3. Hold the compact lid open in the palm of your hand, the chalk base should be between your thumb and pointer finger.
  4. Using your thumb, press hair onto chalk base and slide down hair. Repeat to increase color intensity.
  5. Finish with hair spray to set chalk.
